Historic Achievement — First SAFA Cape Winelands team ever to qualify for the Nedbank Cup Last 32
Making History
in Cape Town
Founded in 2020, Ammar Soccer Academy quickly made their mark on Western Cape football. The club worked their way up to the ABC Motsepe League and etched their name in history as the first SAFA Cape Winelands team to qualify for the Nedbank Cup Last 32 — South Africa's second most prestigious cup competition.
Under head coach Edward Malunga Fiyaka, the academy beat ABC Motsepe League side Maties 1–0 at the Mbekweni Stadium in Paarl, with Luko 'Whitey' Vakala scoring the decisive goal.
Now firmly established in the ABC Motsepe League, the club's ambition is clear — promotion to the National First Division (NFD) and beyond.
